Last week my family and I took a trip down to Miami for the week!! We squeezed so many fun things into the week and I wanted to share everything in one place! Last year I made a similar blog post detailing our trip to Rosemary Beach, FL. If you’ve read that post then you know it wasn’t 100% my favorite place because of the air bnb style home we rented. I am much more of a resort/hotel girlie and wow! The hotel we stayed in was AMAZING! So let’s get into all the details of our trip!

First off, the hotel! We stayed at the 1 Hotel in South Beach Miami, FL and it was perfect. We stayed in the 1 Hotel when we visited California last October and fell in love with the vibe. Their Miami location is the original 1 Hotel. The atmosphere is very “earthy & natural.” Each restaurant is very health focused with tons of fresh juices, fruits, veggies and high quality ingredients. The best part was the service, they had so many employees everywhere you turned to help you with anything. You could order food at either of the four pools plus the beach. They set chairs, umbrellas and towels up for you once you walked down to the beach. It was so nice not to worry about a thing. We got a room with two king beds and a balcony which was so spacious. Everything about this hotel was stunning and we will 100% be back.

Now let’s get into some things we disliked….Why didn’t anyone tell me about all the seaweed. Y’all the ocean was swarmed with tons and tons of seaweed. Every time we got in the ocean our ankles were legit trapped! we kept getting tangled in all the seaweed which meant we had to keep swimming further out to where it was a little more clear water. We all eventually got used to it and the seaweed itself eventually cleared up a little toward the end of the day but the seaweed was shocking to say the least. And actually Briella never got used to it, so if you have kids just be mindful. They might be scared of the seaweed wrapping around their legs. In the picture, those dark shadows are piles of seaweed!!

Food time!! Miami, you have some of the best food! I mentioned how the 1Hotel had tons of restaurants but our favorite one was Watr. It’s a Japanese/ Sushi place on the roof top and the views are gorgeous! The tuna tartare with sesame crackers was my favorite. A place we tried for the first time was Carbone, I have been wanting to go here for so long and it totally exceeded my expectations. We ordered all the traditional menu items like; ceasar salad, prosciutto, spicy rigatoni and 3 different desserts. I was in heaven. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough! We also went to Nobu and Catch (of course, my favs). The kids do very well in restaurants and they’re getting to that age where they actually want to try new foods. Yay!

Let’s get into our daily routine while in Miami, Like I mentioned before their was tons of seaweed in the morning and then cleared to around 50% in the afternoon so we based our day around then. First we got breakfast around 10:30 and went straight to the pool. The kids were hype every single morning so it was nice for them to get their energy out by jumping in the pool, swimming around, etc. Then we would go straight to the ocean after 2 ish hours, This was perfect because we could order a snack on the beach (chip & guac) then play in the ocean a little. The kids would be way more chill at this point so Rob and I could lounge, read, and take turns going to the water with them. After another 2-3 hours we would go back to the room for a break, this was critical because we usually had dinner around 7 so the kids needed that break.

Ok now on to probably the most exciting part of the trip, the Fifa Club World Cup 2025! RG loves soccer and his favorite player is Messi #10! So when we saw there was a huge game happening while we were in Miami we knew we had to go! We actually had to extend our trip by 1 night so we could go. We ended up staying at the Fort Lauderdale Marriot resort & spa. Definitely wouldn’t consider this a real resort but ok lol. If the 1 Hotel was “let us know if you need anything” the Marriot was “sorry, it’s first come, first serve.” I wouldn’t say it was bad by any means but definitely not the 1 Hotel! OK back to the soccer game…We had a ball! RG loved seeing his favorite player and cheering in the crowd. It was so fun to see my babies happy and excited at their first ever professional sports game. Briella was mainly interested in the popcorn but enjoyed herself all the same.

In conclusion, Miami was a 9/10. I’m deducting a point because of the 10 hour long drive to get there lol but we are for sure coming back! Are you local? Have to visited Miami before? Let me know what you thinking if I forgot to mention something and I can answer your questions on instagram stories and add it to my Miami highlight!
